Woodworking for Winners
“Woodworking for Winners” allows youths between the ages of 5-18 to learn introductory and basic woodworking skills. Program participants are divided into the following age appropriate groups; 5-9, 10-13, and 14-18. The program offers 12 week sessions focusing on the safe and proper use of hand, and portable power tools.
“Woodworking for Winners” program participants learn to make simple, yet functional projects that increase in complexity as their skills further develop. “Woodworking for Winners” incorporates character development and life skills activities into each session. Program participants also develop the following skills; abstract reasoning, problem solving, critical thinking, craftsmanship, and respect for safety, tools, and equipment.
Projects Include: Name Plaques, Soda Can Lamps, Key Racks, and Rubber Band Art Designs.
